This series of work explores the biblical
theme of the human body being a temple of the Holy Spirit.
The layered imprints of fragmented, ancient texts allude
to the passing down of knowledge over time, through language
and culture.
The Romanesque cathedral plan, which
was designed to the dimensions of the human form, becomes
a cruciform background to the figure, linking the themes
of church and figure through a symbol of sacrifice. The static
nature of the church plan contrasts with the living figure,
which emerges from it, translucent as if full of light.
